Both artists were already recognized in the Australian metal scene for their involvement in various other projects before coming together to create a band that would blend elements of black metal, depressive rock, and atmospheric music. The inception of Autumn's Dawn marked a departure from the traditional black metal sound that both members were known for, aiming instead to craft music that captured a broader emotional spectrum. Their debut album, Gone, was released in 2014 via Eisenwald Tonschmiede.
