Cloudmirror" is the first release from Lost Air, a Massachusetts-based experimental sound project. Comprised of eight instrumental pieces, the album floats through a suite of somber, aural meditations that transfigure personal grief and disorientation into atmospheric, minimalist tone poems. Blending textured field recordings, delicate acoustic orchestrations, and dark ambient soundscapes, the gauzy stretch of tracks lace to form an intricate, cohesive whole. The result is sonically hazy and ethereal, true to the solitary, conscious moments that inspired these sounds. In the deepest breaths of "Cloudmirror", chamber-like melodies collapse into windswept, decomposing noise, and a spectral sense of reflection presents itself.
