THE DUNGEON IS ALIVE! On Friday July 14th, 2023, Norwegian dark fantasy progenitor MORTIIS performed his groundbreaking 1993 debut album Født til å herske live for the first time anywhere in the world at the family-owned amusement park Enchanted Forest in Turner, Oregon. It was an absolutely unprecedented event, made magical under the cool verdant canopy of towering Pacific Northwest trees, with the setting sun streaming through the fog intermittently and bats swirling overhead. It was an evening of live dungeon synth that very few believed was possible. The following night, on Saturday July 15th, MORTIIS took the stage once again at Portland’s historic Star Theater for a second sold out performance. Both shows were professionally recorded and promptly sent back to Norway where Håvard Ellefsen mixed them into the powerful movements heard NOW for the first time! Stereophonic mastering was provided by our longtime collaborator Timothy Stollenwerk.

This limited edition release of 500 pure black 180 gram vinyl is ensconced in a lush gatefold sleeve featuring photography exclusive to these concerts by Peter Beste and Shaun Astor. 4-panel liner notes insert republishes, for the first time in 26 years, Dennis Dread’s 1999 interview with MORTIIS backstage on his first U.S. tour in support of The Stargate.
