Essential Italian 90s dark dungeon music releasing on vinyl.

Mysterious, bombastic and endlessly melancholic, 'Ars Moriendi MCCXXXI' embodies the spirit of dungeon synth as it charges boldly across ancient imaginary battlefields, delves into lonely forgotten crypts, while also finding time for a few idyllic moments during the quest.

Composed and produced in 1997-1998 and then circulated as two demo tapes in the final chapters of the 2nd wave black metal scene before fading into obscurity. In 2019, The Lord of Time returned to the dungeons, and soon found his way to Gondolin, where the two demos were finally officially released in autumn as a full-length compilation tape.

Now 28 years since the inception, Arcana Liturgia is still going strong, and has just had an impressive year with several shows at some of the most important European dungeon synth events, as well as the well-received release of 'The Wizard' on Forsaken Relics. So now seems like a particularly good moment to finally reissue the ancient magic of the earliest work on a well-crafted vinyl reissue.

The artwork, like the 2019 tape, consists of graphic adaptations of the demo j-cards. The heavy bombastic sound and the lofi analogue synths have translated remarkably well on this pressing following a careful vinyl mastering process.
